Hey, I finally paid for a copy, based upon reading the following:
Quote:
Features in the beta that are not visible in the release version:
...
Database connectivity

I found the "Database Setup" window, filled it out, but then what happens? I could not see any way to further specify the data, which I would assume would be someplace to put a "SELECT..." statement.

Or have you gotten no further than the "Database Setup" dialog? Smile

Contact me through e-mail (david@visu..) and I can walk you through it.

The short answer is that you have to upload a connection script to a web server that is connected to the database. There are several reasons I have for this, having to do with security of the server (limiting outside connections) and to present a view of a subset of the tables. It also limits connections to read only. In addition I couldn't find information about the license for the MySQL library. It looks like it is GPL and I can't use that. I even looked for information about buying a license from ORACLE and couldn't find any info or discussion online about that.

I'm interested in feedback on this design choice, and connecting through e-mail is the fastest way to do that. Anyone else reading this and interested in this functionality is invited to do the same.

David
