Hi,

I am using Datagraph on Mas OX 10.10.5.

I have sets of datagraph files on an external hard drive. When I copy them on my computer, no problem. But when I try to copy them on another external hard drive, I get the following message (for instance):

The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “boxplots.dgraph” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)

I happens with tons of files, and I tried different hard drives, always the same problem. It also crashes my automatic backup to a linux based server.

Any idea ? Thanks !

What is the format on that drive?

The DataGraph file is really a package, which is a folder on disk. In the Finder you can control-click on the file to open the package, or you can cd into it in the Terminal.

Some of the sub-files have very long names, and maybe the file format on that external drive doesn't allow the names to be that long. Or the files are already in a deeply nested folder and the combined path name is too long. Old disk formats had some pretty restrictive naming rules.

Thanks ! I will look into it. The target disk is ExFAT I believe...but I will check.

Thank you again !
