plotting a simple "average/mean" would be wonderful.

Thanks

Do you mean a horizontal line at the average?

The Box command and Histogram command compute that. You can extract that value and use it in a Lines command to draw a horizontal or vertical line.

To do that, do the following:

- Create a Histogram command and select the column you want the mean of.
- Exclude that command (check box) so that it doesn't affect the graphic.
- In the small gear menu next to the Hide command select "Extract as Variable -> Median", and give it a name like "median"
- Create a Lines command and instead of drawing the line at 0, type in the name of the global variable - median. This field allows you to type in one or more numbers and the numbers can be expressions.

You can use the global variables in any numerical field as well as text labels. For using them in a text label select them from the + menu to the right of the text field.

Yes this is what I want.

I still think that including "average" as a fit type could streamline this.
We very often use averages to "fit" our data and using the fit functionality for that would simply make sense in my opinion.

Thanks.
