Is there a way to import some image, say a tif file, and then treat it like an array?

This is possible

- Drag the tiff file into the script window (2D Bitmap)
- Context menu -> Color Component (2D Mesh)
- Context menu -> Extract -> Array (Array)

In the color component you can extract R,G,B,Hue, Saturation, Value, or Gray scale.

The bitmap (first object) takes a file as an argument. You can for example drag in an entire folder of bitmap images (creates a File Name object, but this is a time series of files), then use the context menu Create Variable -> Bitmap. Then you have a bitmap object, and the rest is like above.

You can drag the bitmap or 2D mesh into a drawing view to draw it. The array can not be drawn since it doesn't have a location in space. You can use the array or mesh to manipulate the values. If you stay at the mesh level you preserve the location information.
