In the axis settings (3rd block) you can switch the axis between linear, logarithmic, reverse linear and reverse logarithmic.

The range will still be min,max for all four cases.

You mean the Color Scheme in the global variables?

Some drawing commands, such as Points, Range, Lines allow you to color discrete values based on the color scheme or color ramp.

You can define color ramp variable (not color scheme) and use that to color the points. There is also a color ramp legend command. This is new in 4.3, but was in the beta before that.
