(1) Hi, it seems that symbols don't appear in a legend when they are defined by a symbol scheme rather than directly within a command. CF the colour legend, where one can select the colour scheme to use.

(2) On the legend front: it would be useful to have some more control over the way symbols appear in them. e.g. in the colour legend, the colour swatches are always filled roundrects. This introduces an unnecessary distraction in a plot where all the symbols plotted are, say, unfilled circles.

And in a plot where there is a variation in both symbol shape and colour, we currently need to use two legends, even when colour and shape are being used redundantly. It would be great to be able to integrate colour and symbol information in a single legend, a bit like we can currently do to display both symbol shape and line type together in a single legend even if they are plotted separately.
