Can not import Scalar field in the last beta

I currently need to plot a "color map" of 9000 data point and would be interested in using the Scalar field. But, it seems that in the latest beta, freeshly updated this morning, the design of the Scalar field as change (it has certainly change a long time ago, but I havn't used it for a while). I have now difficulty to import data to create the scalar field. I am trying to copy/paste the data but they do not appears in the scalar field. And I would not like to copy, one by one my data point to obtain this scalar field.

A new section in the help which explain how to use the scalar field would be welcome.
