Hi David,
I'm interested in the Data Object feature of DataGraph, but haven't been able to find any documentation on their use and what it is they can do. Could you point me in the right direction?
I was interested in Data Objects for the following reason (please forgive me if they can already do this). I would like to set a datafile as a data object and when the file is updated with new rows for data graph to automatically replot to data. The result would be automatic plotting of real time data.
Best regards,
Dan |

That is actually possible right now. I did that as a test a few months ago, but I haven't documented it fully. Let me dust it off, make sure it still works and document it.

Hi David,
Very cool, looking forward to it.
I link the idea of data objects. I tend to do lots of numberical simulations and save the data to textfiles with long meaning full names. Having a data objects would strengthen the assocication between the text files and the data graph.
Best regards,

Dear David,
I rediscovered Data Objects (it's been a while since my last post)! Have you had a change to write the documentation that describes how to use them? Even if you zip a directory up and post that I'm sure I can work backwards from that.
Cheers,
Dan |

Hi David,
I also wondered if it were possible to do some real time fitting, as described by Dan. I took a look at the Data Object functions but I find it difficult to make some sense of it. The only way I found I can make a dobject is that I import a file by dragging it into DataGraph and then export it again. But I do not end up with a feature as real time plotting. As a result I have two questions. Can one do realtime plotting? And how does the Data Object feature work?
Thanks in advance!
