DataTank

File Action - Movie Input and Output

Description

The "From Movie" module will input a QuickTime movie as a bitmap time series. You can preview the movie and do basic trimming inside the module. DataTank also has a simple QuickTime player built in that you can open by clicking on the "Show" button.

Drag the new variable onto the "Run on this" variable. This will select the new bitmap variable instead of the "Image" variable.

Drag the time slider to scrub through the movie. You could also drag the angle independently, but to tie the time and the angle together, we change the "Angle" variable module into an expression that depends on time. The "t" variable is understood as the current time, and this makes the angle variable have continuous dependence on time.

As with any time animation this animation can be saved into a QuickTime movie in the background. The duration of the animation is set in the main window to be 10 seconds, and since only the region (2,12) is extracted from the movie that matches the length of the movie segment. The original movie only has 4 frames per second, so there is little point in including more frames. If you did, the frame would not change but the angle would so the resulting image would.
